Hallstatt has 750 residents. It gets 1 million visitors a year.

That's insane.

This picture-perfect lakeside village in Austria literally inspired Arendelle in Disney's Frozen. Beautiful alpine views. Crystal-clear water. Quaint little houses.

Then social media found it.

Suddenly, everyone wanted to see it.

Tourists started arriving by the busload. Selfie sticks everywhere. Locals couldn't walk to the grocery store without dodging photo ops.

So the town did the unthinkable:

They built a fence.

A wooden barrier to block the famous view. Just to get some peace.

The locals are divided.

Some say the tourists keep the town alive. Others say their home became a theme park.

One resident told reporters: "We just want to buy bread without being photographed."
